Description

The Hydraulic Gantry Shear is a heavy-duty shearing machine designed to cut steel plates, copper plates, nickel plates, and other medium-thickness metal materials. With shearing forces ranging from 100 to 250 tons, it handles materials sized (12–20 mm) × 250 mm, delivering a cutting frequency of 3–5 strokes per minute.

Thanks to its hydraulic-driven system, this gantry shear offers multiple advantages over mechanical shears — such as smaller footprint, lower inertia, quieter operation, and more precise control. It is widely used in scrap yards, metal recycling centers, and processing plants that deal with bundled or heavy sheet scrap.

Working Principle of Hydraulic Gantry Shear

  • Scrap Feeding: Metal sheets, plates, or bundled scrap are loaded into the chamber via grab or loader.
  • Shearing: A hydraulic cylinder drives the upper blade down to cut against the fixed lower blade in single or continuous mode.
  • Discharge: Cut materials slide out from the front, ready for collection or transport.
  • Control System: PLC-based hydraulic-electric control enables mode switching, pause at any point, and overload protection.
